2024 USAID Protecting Children and Youth from Digital Harm Symposium
I, Phyo Thiri Lwin from the NetMission Team, had the privilege of moderating a dynamic discussion at the 2024 USAID Protecting Children and Youth from Digital Harm Symposium. In the session, titled "Safeguarding the Digital Future," I facilitated insights from distinguished figures like Edmon Chung, Amrita Choudhury, Kenneth Leung, and Amy Crocker. We collectively stressed the critical need for a multi-stakeholder approach to enhance online safety for children and youth in the Asia Pacific region, expressing the commitment to collective action and finding effective solutions to address digital harm.
My experience from this session would likely be both enriching and impactful. As the moderator, I had the opportunity to enlighten myself and to the audience while highlighting the importance of online safety from the prominent experts in the field, allowing for valuable insights and perspectives to be shared. Leading a conversation on the critical topic of enhancing online safety for children and youth in the Asia Pacific region indicates a sense of responsibility and commitment to addressing pressing issues. I also involved facilitating productive discussions, navigating diverse viewpoints, and contributing to the collective mission of protecting children and youth from digital harm through multi-stakeholder collaboration.
